Sand and Finish Heart Pine flooring in Historic St. Augustine

Owner of a home on the harbor in St. Augustine, Florida, contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to sand and finish their old, solid Heart Pine flooring. This is the 5th home on Avenida Menendez, in the historic area of St. Augustine, in which we have sanded and refinished their wooden floors.

Heart Pine is the heartwood of the long leaf pine tree. The wood is very hard and strong, with beautiful coloring and figure patterns.

Our crew began by sanding the old Heart Pine flooring, and hand scraping their edges. During breaks, we would enjoy the view of the Harbor.

Next, we applied durable Pallmann products – Pallmann Clear Sealer for the first coat.

Then our crew added a coat of durable Pallmann Pall-X Power Ultra Matte.

After these two coats had fully cured, we buffed the wood floors down, and applied a final coat – Pallmann Pall-X Gold Ultra Matte.
