Homeowners moving into the Coastal Oaks community at Nocatee from Las Vegas contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install wood flooring in the upstairs of their new home. They wanted the new wood flooring to match the wood flooring on the first floor of the home.

First our crew removed the existing carpet in designated areas upstairs. We found and removed a lot of squeaks and creaks in the second floor plywood subfloor. Then we installed a Genie Mat sound deadening membrane. (This mat reduces the sound of footsteps or other noise, for the benefit of people downstairs).

Dan was able to match the exact wood from the downstairs because this house was built only 5 years ago, so we were able to get the specifications for the flooring that the builder had used. The downstairs wood flooring was an engineered hardwood; Castlewood Oak by Shaw Floors hardwood, in their Drawbridge color. These Oak planks are 9/16 “ thick x 7.5” wide, and come in random lengths.

After installing the engineered hardwood Castlewood Oak flooring, our crew finished this installation job with shoe molding and 3 carpet tucks at the bedroom doorways.
