Acacia Wood Flooring Installation in Historic Riverside

This flooring project was subcontracted to Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 by a local residential renovation contractor.

Solid Acacia wood flooring - installed.We were contracted to install 3/4″ thick, 4 3/4″ wide, random length, hand scraped solid Acacia wood flooring, color Golden Topaz, by Timber Harvest flooring over multiple layers of flooring that was over 100 years old.

  • The builder provided this solid Acacia flooring.
  • This home is located in the historic Riverside area of Jacksonville, Florida.

The old subflooring was bowed and wavy in various areas. Our crew used Bostik Grip-N-Shield adhesive for this project.

  • Some areas required adhesive and wood shimming. In order to get the maximum contact and ensure a solid bond between the new wood flooring and the wavy and bowed wooden subfloor, we also placed boxes of wood flooring on top of the freshly laid Acacia planks.
  • Our crew started the job off the fireplace. For visual appeal and longer runs, we laid the Acacia planks front to back, as you walk in the front door.
  • Our crew did quite a few precision cuts during this solid Acacia wood flooring installation, such as around the cable through the floor, at the oversized white threshold plate at a bedroom door, and for multiple ventilation duct registers.
