Sand and Finish Wood Floors and Stairs in Yulee

Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted to sand and finish the solid Red Oak flooring and 2 stairways in a home in Yulee, Florida. This is an old home, located on the marsh, just west of Fernandina Beach. One set of stairs was Red Oak, the other was Pine.

We found the flooring to be in good shape overall, no repairs were needed.

Our crew sanded the floors using our Lagler-Hummel belt sander on the larger areas of the floors. and also sanded all of the stair treads. We hand scraped the edges of the floors and stair treads.

During a break, we enjoyed the view of the nearby marsh.

Our crew refinished the wood flooring and wooden stair treads back to a beautiful, natural look. We applied Pallmann Clear Sealer, followed by 2 coats of Pallmann matte finish.

Sand and Finish Solid Red Oak Flooring in Avondale

These clients contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to restore the solid Red Oak floors (circa 1950s) in a home in the historic Avondale neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida. This home overlooks Boone Park .

These before photos of the old Red Oak floors exude how they needed to be restored in order to reveal their natural beauty.

Our crew did a lot of sanding and used a bunch of sandpaper to bring the beauty of these old wood floors back to life.

After sanding, we applied quality Pallmann Sealer . Then our crew completed the job by applying two coats of durable Pallmann Gold Matte, commercial rated, waterborne polyurethane finish .

Natural Look for Red Oak Floors in St. Augustine

Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted to sand and finish the Red Oak floors in a home in the Pelican Reef community of St. Augustine. The neighborhood is located right on the marsh, very close to the St. Augustine Amplitheater.

Our clients wanted a more natural look for their wood floors.

We began by sanding and hand scraping the edges of their Red Oak flooring to the bare wood.

To achieve a bare wood/naked wood/natural wood look for our clients, our crew first applied Pallmann Natureseal to their wood floors.

Next we applied 2 coats of Pallmann Pall-X Pure. This Pall-X Pure provides a surface that doesn’t shine or reflect highlights, with small amounts of white pigment to keep the wood species pure in appearance, without yellowing.

Refinishing Red Oak Flooring – Jacksonville, FL Northside

Stained and finished 1 1/2" wide Red Oak flooringDan’s Floor Store was contracted to refinish existing Red Oak flooring in a home in Northside Jacksonville.

The scope of this refinishing project included sanding, staining and finishing the wood floors.

The Red Oak flooring in this home was 1 1/2″ wide strips; more rare than the 2 1/4″ wide Red Oak flooring we usually see. Dan loves the look of this narrow wood strip flooring.

First our crew thoroughly sanded the floors and hand scraped the edges.

Then we stained the wood floor with Minwax Gunstock Wood Finish stain.

Our crew finished these Red Oak floors with three coats of Pallmann Pall-X Power semi-gloss finish.
