Southern Yellow Pine Stain and Refinish with Stair Treads – St. Augustine

Owners of a riverfront home in St. Augustine called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for a free consultation and estimate on a home flooring improvement project. They wanted to stain and refinish their Southern Yellow Pine flooring. The homeowners also wanted their White Oak stair treads refinished, using the same stain.

After the meeting, we got the job!

Our crew began work on this project by sanding and hand scraping the edges of the Southern Yellow Pine plank floors, and sanding the White Oak stair treads.

We “popped” the wood grain on the floor and stairs with water. This opens the wood grain up for a more even, darker and deeper stain effect.

To get the look the homeowners wanted for their wood flooring and stair treads, we used quality Bona Antique Brown stain for both.

Our crew finished the Southern Yellow Pine plank floors and White Oak stair treads with one coat of Pallmann sealer. And then we applied two coats of durable Pallmann Power satin finish.

Our clients were delighted to see their refinished Southern Yellow Pine wood floors, and White Oak stairs. And Dan’s Floor Store always likes to have happy clients!
