Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was called to a home in Durban Crossing in St. John’s county, Florida to remove the old flooring, install LPV (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring, and refinish the stairway. There was a mix of carpet, tile, and wood flooring.

Our crew did this job in three stages. First we removed the old flooring and leveled the concrete slab subfloor on the first floor. Then our crew installed the 10″ wide Nuvelle LPV flooring from their Grandeur collection, color Ashville.

Next we removed the upstairs flooring and leveled the upstairs sheet plywood subflooring. Our crew installed the same LVP flooring upstairs.

For the last phase of this project, we came to the staircase work. Refinishing stairway to match the newly installed Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring included the Red Oak stair treads, rails, newel posts, and stair tread nosing. Our crew sanded and began refinishing the stairs using Bona Red Out (a two step process). Then Dan made a special blend of White and Birch Bona stains, and finished the staircase with 3 coats of Pallmann Sealer and Ultramatte polyurethane finish, to create a seamless blend in color with the new LVP flooring.

One of our homebuilder friends contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to do the flooring part of their new home project. They selected 9″ wide LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring for the floors and stairs, in the color Luray Caverns, by LW Flooring. This LVP comes in varied lengths, which makes the installation and the look of the installed flooring more interesting.

Our crew began by leveling the subfloors. We leveled the concrete slab subfloor downstairs. We also sanded the edges of the plywood sheet subfloor upstairs to create a leveled surface for the LVP flooring. Dan’s Floor Store has found that leveling the surface of the subfloor prior to installing new flooring gives better results and happier clients.

Next came the installation of the Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring on the upstairs and downstairs floors, and the stairway. We found and installed matching nosing for the stair treads.
