7 wide White Oak Installation in Sawgrass

This customer contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to help with new flooring, while doing renovations and updates to their home in the Sawgrass Country Club neighborhood. They selected 7″ wide by 9/16″ thick, brushed, engineered White Oak hardwood flooring; color “Elanor” from the Muse collection by Mirage.

After removing the old flooring, Dan checked the moisture content of the concrete slab subfloor, and found the moisture level was higher than acceptable for a good wood flooring installation. Our crew applied Bostik‘s MVP-4 to protect the new wood flooring from the moisture in the concrete subfloor. This also levels the subfloor. (A level subfloor is also important to a quality flooring installation.)

Next, our crew installed the Mirage White Oak flooring, using Bostik’s moisture vapor control adhesive. (This Mirage flooring came in random lengths, and in the exclusive grade.) We installed the flooring in a plank design in the bedrooms. Our team installed this flooring in an eye-catching herringbone pattern throughout the main areas and halls of the home. (Mirage offers planks in herringbone formats in many of their colors and styles. Dan can also modify flooring planks for herringbone pattern installations (if not available from the manufacturer), when requested.)

Tile, Wood Flooring and Stairs Install – Atlantic Beach

Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 got the contract for a large flooring and stairway home improvement project for a home and Casita in the Ocean Walk community of Atlantic Beach, Florida. The project included installing 3 different tile designs, and new wood flooring and stair treads.

Our crew started by removing all of the existing wood and tile flooring. Then we leveled the subfloors.

Downstairs, we installed 3 different tile selections in various areas of this home and Casita using Fusion Pro Grout. Our crew used Tuscan TruSpace Seam Clips for the larger tiles.

– Ayers Rock Solar Summit 20” x 20” porcelain tile by Daltile.

– Lungarra Carrara 2” hexagonal tile by Daltile in one bathroom.

And we installed Alhambra Marengo tile by Casavitabella in the Casita.

We replaced the existing solid Oak stair treads with solid Sapele wood (African Mahogany) stair treads from Heritage Forest Products.  We finished these stair treads with durable Pallmann finish.

Upstairs, our crew installed a matching 5″ wide, engineered Sapele wood flooring by Mirage.

Engineered Maple Flooring Replacing Tile – Palencia

Palencia Golf and Country Club community homeowners called Dan’s Floor Store for our free consultation and estimate. They wanted to replace 1600 square feet of tile flooring that had been originally installed in their home with wood flooring. Home improvements can often improve the value of a home, as well as make it more enjoyable for the owners.

Maple flooring installedOur clients chose an engineered maple flooring made by Mirage; 6 1/4″ X 1/2″called Maple Peppermint, it has a grey color and is a very beautiful flooring.

Mirage is one of the best brands of engineered wood flooring in the industry. It is FSC certified wood flooring. The FSC stamp is the hardest stamp to get on wood flooring, because FSC is the Forestry Stewardship Council. That means that all of the wood comprised in the Mirage engineering wood flooring is eco sound and compliant to the highest standards.

Our crew had a lot of floor tile to remove. We put plastic film over cabinets and appliances, to protect them during tile removal.

Then we leveled the concrete slab sub floor. A level surface helps wood flooring last longer.

After leveling the slab we also had to seal the concrete with Bostik‘s MVP (Moisture Vapor Protection) prior to installation. Sealer was required because the slab had tile put on it before it was fully cured. Not letting the concrete slab cure before installing tile traps the moisture between slab and tile. Dan’s Floor Store understands how this trapped moisture can penetrate and damage new wood flooring. It is our practice to check every concrete slab for trapped moisture prior to installation.

With the sub floor leveled, the installation of the engineered maple flooring progressed smoothly.
