Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was called to help with a flooring improvement project by these Ponte Vedra Beach home owners, who had also been our clients years ago.

It’s always nice when prior clients calls you to help with another flooring project. They had purchased a new house, and they did not like the wood flooring that was in there.

Our clients selected an engineered hardwood, wire brushed Hickory flooring by Bella Cera for their new home. The random width flooring planks are 4″, 5″, and 6″ wide, with distinct sawmark directions and textures, and color variation for a nice visual effect. This is one of the array of wood flooring brands that we sell and install. 

Our crew began this job by removing all of the old flooring.

Next, we did extensive leveling of the concrete slab subfloor, to prepare it for the new hardwood flooring.

Our crew installed the Hickory flooring with Bostik’s Pro-cure adhesive.

We finished this job by installing shoe molding around the edges of the new wire brushed Hickory flooring. Our clients told us they were absolutely flabbergasted by the look of their new floors. And Dan’s Floor Store always likes to have happy clients!

Aged and Smoked French Oak Flooring Installation – Ocala National Forest

This project was for a repeat client. We had previously installed flooring in his home on the river, in Saint Johns County

Preview - Lake front project home in Ocala National Forest.Our client had built a home in Ocala National Forest; a lake house right on Lake DeLancey! He called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install wood flooring in his new home.

First, our crew leveled 1,800 square foot of the concrete slab with Bostik SL-150 self-leveling underlayment, to prepare it for wood flooring installation.

The flooring chosen for this project was engineered, aged and smoked French Oak, Bela Cera flooring of the Villa Borghese collection, Olimpia color. Each 8 inch wide by 72 inch long plank has a wire brushed surface with slightly distressed edges and ends.

Our crew installed this aged and smoked French Oak flooring with Bostik Green Force adhesive and moisture control membrane , for long term durability and moisture protection.

Engineered Hickory Hardwood Flooring Installation near St. Augustine

Dan's Floor Store showroom, Ponte Vedra, FloridaAfter a flood in the kitchen ruined their wood flooring, these homeowners called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for a free consultation and estimate.

This wood flooring home improvement project took place in a home in Elkton Florida, just west of Saint Augustine, and off of County Road 207.

As part of the job, we were asked to remove the existing, water damaged wood flooring.

The whole 1,120 sq ft of existing wood flooring was removed by our crew in one day,

The next day we leveled the concrete slab.

And the next day, our crew started installing our clients’ new wood flooring.

 

Our clients had chosen an engineered Hickory hardwood flooring from the Villa Bocelli collection by Bella Cera in the Storico color.

This hardwood flooring comes in random widths and lengths, with a lot of variation in color and shade. Also this flooring is very unique with the saw marks against the grain of the wood. The semi-rough texture will help reduce visiblity of scratches.

We used Bostik’s Pro Cure adhesive to install this engineered Hickory hardwood flooring.

Instead of a t-mold at the tile, our crew used a header board, at our customer’s request.

All in all, our customers were very happy. They even wrote us a very nice Review. And Dan’s Floor Store likes to have happy customers!

Engineered French Oak Flooring & Treads – Plantation Golf & Country Club PVB

Our client selected 8″ wide, engineered French Oak flooring, from Bella Cera‘s Villa Borghese collection.

We began by leveling the concrete slab subfloor on the first level. We had to use a large amount of floor leveler to get the concrete slab ready for our wood flooring. Upstairs, our crew went from room to room, sanding all of the plywood subfloor seams to achieve a level surface.

Then we installed 4,000 square feet of the hardwood French Oak flooring. We used flooring straps when installing this French Oak wood flooring, because of the width of the flooring planks.

Our crew also did the staircase, including two landings and 21 treads in the same French Oak flooring, using nosing and flooring for the stair treads. In all, this project took several weeks to complete

The new flooring and stair treads were covered for protection while the rest of the construction work finished.

We returned to the home several weeks later, when the construction work was completed, and our new flooring and stair treads were unveiled. Everything looked great, so we got some more photos of this wood flooring and stairs project.

Engineered French Oak Flooring Installation in Nocatee

Unless we are working with a new construction project, flooring installation projects usually require removal of the existing floor covering. And that is how we started this engineered French Oak flooring installation project.

Our crew began this project in a home in Nocatee by removing over 2,000 square feet of existing tile and wood flooring.

After we removed the tile and old wood flooring, we found a high level of moisture in the concrete slab subfloor. The high moisture content of the slab was caused by the tile having been put down before the slab had thoroughly cured.

So, after leveling the concrete slab subfloor, we applied Bostik MVP4 Moisture Barrier to the slab to abate the prevalent moisture.

Our client chose Bella Cera Villa Borghese engineered French Oak flooring in the Abele color. To be able to properly install the French Oak flooring, we undercut the stone fireplace, using a jamb saw with a masonry bit blade.

As evidenced by the note from our client, she was overjoyed with the job that we delivered! This turned out to be another beautiful wood flooring installation! And Dan’s Floor Store likes to have happy clients!

French Oak Hardwood Flooring Install – Matching Stairs – St. Augustine Beach

French Oak hardwood flooring installedIt’s always nice when a prior client refers a friend to your business. For this wood flooring installation project in Saint Augustine Beach, one of Dan’s Floor Store’s prior clients referred a friend of theirs to us.

Our new client selected Bella Cera Villa Borghese engineered French Oak hardwood flooring in the Alessandra color. This is a really beautiful flooring with that kind of a whitewashed look that blends in beautifully with the beach area in which this house is situated.

Before we could install the new wood flooring, our crew did a massive amount of floor leveling with Bostik SL-150 Self Leveling Underlayment.

Then we had to seal the concrete floor with Bostik MVP4 because of a high level of moisture in the concrete slab subfloor.

Now were were ready to glue the engineered French Oak hardwood flooring down, over top of the MVP4 moisture barrier. The solid oak stair treads were done with a perfect stain match; super beautiful.

French Oak Wood Flooring Installation and Stair Treads to Match in Vilano Beach

This Dan’s Floor Store project was in a new construction house in Vilano Beach, Florida. The home has a nice view across the Tolomato River from the back porch (where we set up a temporary work area).

Our client chose 8″ wide engineered French Oak wood flooring; Galano from the Villa Borghese collection by Bella Cera for this project.

Our crew did a lot of prep work on the plywood subfloor, i.e., sand off paint overspray and sanding down unlevel plywood seams.

We used flooring straps when installing the French Oak wood flooring, because of the width of the flooring planks.

Our crew sanded, stained, and finished the individual stair treads to match the new French Oak wood flooring, prior to installing them. We have found that working on the stair treads prior to installing them is much more efficient. Prior to installation is preferred to doing the stair tread work in place.

Our client agreed that the new wood floors and stained and finished stair treads turned out beautifully, and Dan’s Floor Store likes to have happy clients!

French Oak Wood Flooring Installation – Odom’s Mill PVB

French Oak wood flooring installedClients living in the Odom’s Mill subdivision of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida chose Dan’s Floor Store to improve their home by installing wood flooring. After removing their old carpeting and 500 square feet of tile flooring, we installed 2000 feet of French Oak wood flooring by Bella Cera.

First, we removed the the tile and carpeting. Then we could see the massive amount of floor leveling that needed to be done, in preparation for installing the new wood floors.

Bostik SL 150, self-leveling underlayment did a great job of leveling the subfloor. We took these photos while leveling the surface of the concrete subfloor.

For this French Oak wood flooring installation we used Bostik GreenForce adhesive and moisture control membrane. There was not a moisture problem in the concrete subfloor at this home. Our client said that they would feel better using the Bostik GreenForce adhesive with moisture control membrane so we did. Based on our years of experience, Dan’s Floor Store uses Bostik’s adhesives exclusively in our work.

Because of the 8 inch width of these French Oak wood flooring planks, we used special flooring straps to hold the planks together during installation.

Our client selected a grayish colored engineered, 8 inch wide by 5/8 inch thick Bella Cera French Oak hardwood designated Maracantonio in their Villa Borghese collection. This hardwood flooring is double smoked, wire brushed, hand distressed and hand stained, for an appearance that is very beachy and current.

We also removed all of the existing baseboards as part of this project. We replaced the old baseboards with 5 1/4 inch tall new baseboards and shoe molding.

Needless to say our customers were absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our work! They love their new wood floors! Reviewing this project, Dan was also very happy with the results he achieved. New Hickory Wood Flooring and Refinished Stairs in Glen Kernan

After one of our Dan’s Floor Store free consultations, we were contracted to remove some of the old flooring and install new wood flooring in a home in the Glen Kernan Country Club community of Jacksonville, Florida.

Glen Kernan is a gated Country Club community, sitting in 600 acres of scenic, natural beauty near the Intracoastal waterway. There were some gorgeous scenes of nature to be seen during this job.

Our crew removed 2500 square feet of mostly tile and wood flooring.

Wood Floor Weave-in and Install at the King and Bear

Installed - new engineered hand scraped birch wood flooringThis Dan’s Floor Store wood floor weave-in and install project took place in a home at the King and Bear community – part of the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.

The client wanted to replace the tile floors in the hallways, kitchen, and dining room with wood flooring.

And they wanted the new wood flooring to appear as a continuation of the existing wood flooring that had been previously installed in their home.

First the tile and thinset used to adhere the tiles to the concrete subfloor had to be removed, and the entire area to be covered in wood flooring had be be leveled.

To match the existing wood flooring, we found a beautiful engineered hand scraped Birch wood flooring, 5″ x 3/8″ planks from the Rucsello collection by Bella Cera.

To blend the new wood flooring in with the existing wood flooring, we wove in ten boards, and went on to extend the new wood flooring throughout all the hallways, in the kitchen, and in the dining room of the home.

The weave-in and installation turned out beautifully, and our client was very pleased. In all, we installed 600 square feet of wood flooring.
