Engineered 5 Inch White Oak Flooring Installation – Mandarin

Engineered 5" wide White Oak flooringA homeowner in the Mandarin community of Jacksonville, Florida contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to remove the old wood flooring, then install 5″ wide White Oak flooring for him. We can do that!

Our client selected engineered, 5″ wide White Oak flooring, from the Diamonds Forever collection by UA Floors.

First our crew removed the old wooden flooring.

Then we did a massive amount of leveling on the concrete slab subfloor, to properly prepare it for the new 5″ wide White Oak flooring.

Time to install the new wood flooring! We installed all of the 5″ wide White Oak flooring running front to back in the home. This was the opposite direction that the wood flooring had been installed prior. We used Bostik Green Force adhesive for this job.

Before we started this job, our crew moved all of the client’s furniture out, and then replaced it after. And we installed all new shoe molding with the new White Oak flooring. Needless to say, our customer was thrilled with his new White Oak floors, and he also gave us a great Google review!

Engineered White Oak Hardwood Flooring Installation – Hammock Beach FL

Engineered White Oak flooring - installedAs part of a new home construction project, Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted to install 1,600 square feet of engineered White Oak hardwood flooring. And this flooring was also installed on the stair frame, to create a matching staircase. The home is located in the northern part Hammock Beach, Florida.

The homeowners chose 7 1/2″ wide by 5/8″ thick White Oak flooring in random lengths. This flooring is made by Sawgrass Hills, in the color named Malaga. Our crew did quite a bit of a leveling of the concrete slab subfloor, as in all jobs. We prepare the substrate so that the flooring which we install lays level across it. A leveled subfloor means there will be no hollow spots under your new flooring. Next our crew installed the White Oak flooring using Bostik Green Force Adhesive and Moisture Control Membrane.

We covered the stair frame with the same White Oak flooring and stair nosing, for a matching look. The stair treads that our crew made feature mitered returns for a nice, finished look.

Needless to say the clients and our builder we did the job for were ecstatic with the outcome. And Dan’s Floor Store always likes to have happy customers!

Installing Wide White Oak Flooring for Fernandina Beach Yoga Studio

A lady in Fernandina Beach called Dan’s Floor Store because the bamboo flooring in her Yoga Studio was failing. Solid bamboo wood flooring is nothing but a problem flooring for Florida!

Our client decided to replace the bamboo with a wide White Oak flooring.

First our crew removed all of the bamboo flooring.

Next. we had to do a massive amount of leveling! The concrete slab subfloor was covered in dips. The subfloors on all jobs done by Dan’s Floor Store must be leveled prior to flooring installation, to guarantee a strong bond to subfloor and a solid sounding floor versus a hollow floor sound!

Our crew installed a beautiful European wide White Oak flooring from the BELROSE collection by Azur Reserve.

The oak planks are 9 1/2” wide x 5/8” thick, with a 4mm sawn face; it is an absolutely stunning wood floor product! We used Bostik‘s GreenForce adhesive for the installation. We have confidence in this proven no VOC adhesive, which includes an effective moisture barrier membrane. Because these are wider wood planks, we used special flooring straps to hold the planks in place during installation. Then our Dan’s Floor Store crew finished the job by installing vinyl baseboards.

Needless to say our client was thrilled with the outcome of her new White Oak wood flooring for her yoga studio! And Dan’s Floor Store always likes to have happy clients!

Installing French/German White Oak Flooring in Ponte Vedra Beach

Forest Accents Ardesia XWA Ponte Vedra Beach homeowner contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install 1,500 square feet of White Oak flooring in their home.

Our client selected 7 1/2″ wide, engineered French/German White Oak (Ardesia XW) wood flooring, made by Forest Accents, from their Euro Textures line.

As can be seen in the following photos, we did a massive amount of leveling on the concrete slab subfloor prior to this wood flooring installation.

Our crew used Bostik Pro Cure adhesive to accomplish the French/German White Oak flooring installation.

We finished this flooring project out with shoe molding to match the baseboard. A hallway was installed on the diagonal, for added visual effect. And our crew also sanded, stained and refinished the lower existing stair tread to match the new wood flooring.

Sand and Finish Engineered White Oak Flooring and Stairs- Crescent Beach

Beach view from the project home.This home had been damaged during Hurricane Irma, in the fall of 2017.
These Crescent Beach community homeowners (in St. Augustine, Florida) called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to restore their water damaged wood floor and staircase.

During the storm, wind and water came in through the windows and doors of the home. You can see some of the water damaged wood flooring and stairs in these photos.

Our crew began working this project by drying out the wet subfloor with dehumidifiers and high powered fans. Then our crew repaired over 500 square feet of engineered White Oak flooring (weave-in repairs with new White Oak flooring).

To restore the wood flooring and staircase, we sanded and hand scraped the edges of:

  • 2,000 square feet of White Oak flooring
  • 30 stair treads
  • 8 stairway newel posts
  • 80 linear feet of stair railing

The engineered White Oak flooring had a tough aluminum oxide finish. Our crew used a lot of sandpaper to go through all the stages of sanding the wood flooring to prepare it for refinishing.

It takes a lot of sandpaper to remove the tough, aluminum oxide finish on wood flooring.

We applied Bona oil-modified DriFast Sealer to the sanded wood.

Then our crew buffed between each of the next coats and applied Bona Woodline oil-modified, polyurethane Satin finish for a tough protective coat and slight amber color to enhance the natural tone of the wood.

Engineered White Oak Wood Flooring Installation – Palencia Country Club

When owners were ready to replace the carpeting in the master bedroom and office of their Palencia home, they called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for a free consultation and estimate.

Since we carry LM flooring in our store, we ordered the same exact flooring for the master bedroom and office of their home.

The first day of this project, we tore out the old carpeting in the two selected areas of the home.

The same day, our crew did the floor leveling using quality Bostik products. Floor leveling is required on almost every wood floor installation project, to create a flat surface, which decreases hollow areas beneath the wood flooring planks, to minimize damage to the wood and maximize the flooring life.

The next day, our Dan’s Floor Store crew installed all the new engineered White Oak wood flooring, about 400 square feet of it.

And on our last day on the job site, we finished the project out with shoe molding all around the new wood floors and helped move the client’s furniture back in place.

White Oak Character Grade Flooring Install – Palencia

Wire brushed white oak character grade wood flooring installedHome owners in Palencia Golf and Country Club community wanted to replace about 1,100 square feet of tile flooring in their home with White Oak Character Grade Flooring. So they contacted Dan’s Floor Store of Ponte Vedra 904.887.8303 for this home improvement project.

Our clients selected 9/16″ thick x 7 1/2″ wide wire brushed White Oak character grade wood flooring with a natural appearance, by Naturally Aged Flooring.

First we removed the existing tile flooring.  The concrete slab subfloor of the home required an immense amount of leveling (as we have found to be a usual necessity) after the tile removal was completed.

Dan’s Floor Store cares about our wood flooring installations. We want to make sure that the new wood flooring lays flat with no hollow spots beneath. Leveling will help the wood flooring last longer. And leveling also helps the wood flooring hold up well during future sanding (for refinishing). We take pride in all of our work so we routinely level all substrate prior to wood flooring installations like this. We finished this job by installing shoe molding, and thresholds at the doorways where the new wood flooring met the tiled and carpeted floors in adjacent rooms.

Wire Brushed Oak Flooring Installation – Nocatee

Snow Cap wire brushed White Oak flooring by Naturally Aged Flooring.This Dan’s Floor Store wire brushed Oak flooring residential installation project took place in a home in the Twenty Mile Village community in Nocatee. Florida.

The first phase of this project was removing all of the floor tile from the kitchen area, and all of the carpeting in the home.

Next we had to level the entire concrete slab subfloor after (as is our standard practice) checking for any moisture issues since it was a new poured slab. (The moisture content of the slab dictates the selection of leveling material used for the job. Moisture coming up from the concrete subfloor can damage wood flooring.)

We had to do quite an extensive amount of leveling on this job. Some leveling areas show up in the wood flooring installation photos that follow. Having a level surface for a wood flooring installation prevents damage to the wood flooring and helps the wood flooring last much longer.

Our clients selected an engineered, wire brushed, White Oak wood flooring made by Naturally Aged flooring, called Snow Cap. This wire brushed Oak flooring is 1/2″ thick x 7 1/2″ wide and comes in random lengths, from 2′ to 6′, with white stain within the soft wood grain. From the Naturally Aged Flooring photo of this character grade White Oak flooring, you can see it has a natural looking white tone without so much character in the flooring to make it look too rustic.

Beachy Look White Oak Flooring Installation – St. Augustine

Dan’s Floor Store was called by a previous client living in Davis Shores in St. Augustine, Florida to install some new wood flooring. We had refinished his wood floors, sanding and staining them during our prior visit. Then Hurricane Matthew came through and the floors in his home ended up under 17 inches of water!

His old flooring had to be removed along with the subfloor, drywall, doors and baseboards. All are new because of the hurricane’s water damage.

Beachy look White Oak flooring being installedFor his new wood flooring , our client selected an engineered wood flooring product made by Real Wood Floors, the Vintage Loft collection, color name Foundry.

  • These are 8 1/2inches wide by 5/8inches thick random length planks, up to 7 feet long with 80 percent of lengths to be long boards.
  • It also boasts a 4mm top and has a distinctive look with lines against the grain to add to the already wire brushed texture on this White Oak flooring.

Dan’s Floor Store crew prepared the new plywood subfloor by edging down the seams of the plywood sheets. The edged seams makes it possible for the new wood flooring to lay flat across subfloor. You can see the edged subfloor sheets in in some of the project photos.

We used Bostik‘s GreenForce adhesive, a Zero VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) adhesive, for this job.

Dan’s Floor Store uses special flooring straps to hold these White Oak wood planks together during installation, due to the width of the planks.

Install Sand and Finish White Oak Wood Flooring in Ponte Vedra Beach

During one of our free consultations about wood flooring for a home in Ponte Vedra Beach, the homeowners shared that they really liked White Oak flooring with a deep, natural tone.

We can do that! We found them some beautiful 5/8″thick x 4″ wide, unfinished engineered White Oak Premium grade wood flooring, made by Shamrock Plank Flooring.

First we leveled the subfloor.
