New Build Hardwood Flooring Install – Jax Beach

One of our favorite local new home builders contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install some new hardwood flooring in south Jacksonville Beach. This newly built house required 3,500 square feet of wood flooring!

Our crew began by leveling the downstairs concrete subfloor with Bostik‘s SL-175 leveler. We leveled the subfloor upstairs by sanding the edges of the sheet plywood subfloor. It’s highly important to level the subfloor so that the wood flooring rides evenly on the subfloors.

Here are photos of some of the materials we used for this project.

Next our crew installed the Reward brand, Terreno Collection, color Conte, hardwood flooring. This flooring is a rustic grade, 9 1/2″ wide x 5/8″ thick European oak, and it comes in random lengths, to make it more appealing to the eye. We used Bostik’s Green Force adhesive for the installation. (Green Force is a moisture vapor barrier adhesive with no VOCs and is Floor Score Certified).

New Hardwood Flooring – New Tile in TPC Sawgrass

Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 recently replaced wood flooring with European Oak hardwood flooring in some rooms of a home in the TPC Sawgrass community. Our crew installed tile in master bathroom (with renovated separate toilet area/water closet and shower).

We began this project by removing the old wood flooring and tile.

Here’s the project materials that our crew brought in for this job..

Next we prepared the bathroom floor, shower and separate toilet area/water closet for tile installation.

Dan checked the moisture content of the new areas of concrete in the slab subfloor in the master bathroom. (A high moisture content can cause problems for new flooring.)
Then our crew used Bostik products to seal and to level the concrete subfloor. (An unleveled subfloor can cause problems with a new flooring installation, too.)

We installed new tile in the bathroom.

Our crew installed the 7 1/2″ wide, wire brushed European Oak hardwood flooring, color Melrose, in random lengths, by Sawgrass Hills with Bostik Green Force Adhesive. Bedrosian tile from the Monet collection, with honed marble in Oriental White mosaic in a cross pattern were used in the shower floor and master bath floor. The shower wall and ceiling tile are glossy white 5 x 16 Tesoro tile from the Buteo collection.

European Oak Hardwood Flooring install – Nocatee

This Dan’s Floor Store job took place in Nocatee community in St. Johns county, Florida. These customers have owned this home for a decade and are improving their flooring prior to relocating back from Japan.

Our crew started this project by removing all of the old, existing tile, except for in the bathrooms.

We leveled the concrete slab subfloors with Bostik SL 175 leveler, to prepare them for the new engineered, character grade, European Oak hardwood flooring. (A leveled subfloor is important for a quality flooring installation.)

Here are some nice photos of the newly installed European Oak hardwood flooring, which we installed using Bostik Green Force adhesive. This flooring by Bella Citta was 7 1/2″ wide, and came in random lengths.

Nocatee Flooring Removal and New Installation

This Dan’s Floor Store flooring project took place in Nocatee, in the Coastal Oaks community. Our customer is relocating here from Spain and wanted us to remove the existing tile and put in new 7 1/2″ wide European White Oak hardwood flooring in random lengths, made by Reward.

Here’s a look at some of the tile flooring we removed.
After our crew removed the old tile flooring, we leveled the concrete slab subfloor, to prepare it for the hardwood plank flooring installation. A leveled subfloor is important for a good wood flooring installation.
Next we installed the new European White Oak hardwood hardwood flooring, complete with new shoe molding (after installing the new wood flooring).

3 1/4″ Wide Engineered Tigerwood Installation – Serenata Beach

Serenata Beach condo.This flooring improvement project for Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was for an upstairs condo in Serenata Beach, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Following one of our FREE consultations, these homeowners chose an exotic 3 1/4″ wide engineered Tigerwood flooring by Triangulo and contracted our crew to install it.

After removing the old flooring, we leveled the concrete subfloor with quality Bostik SL-150.

This job was intricate because our crew cut the ends of the existing wood flooring square, then put in a header board across that flooring, and lined the new wood up to the old wood planks.

Next we glued down cork underlayment for the wood flooring, which was a requirement for sound deadening at this stacked condo.

And then our crew installed the engineered Tigerwood flooring, using durable Bostik GreenForce adhesive.

Engineered French Oak Plank Flooring Installed in Ponte Vedra Beach

A local new home builder contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install hardwood flooring in a project home under construction in Ponte Vedra Beach, on Ponte Vedra Boulevard.

We began by doing a large amount of leveling on the concrete slab and plywood sheet subfloors. Our crew always levels the subfloor prior to installing hardwood flooring.

The flooring selected for this project was 8″ wide x 9/16″ thick, engineered French Oak plank flooring from the Charleston collection; Cottonfield by Palmetto Road.

We covered 4,000 sq.ft. of floor with this engineered French Oak hardwood. For this project, our crew used Bostik Green Force adhesive . The flooring straps we use for the wide plank installations can be seen in some of the photos.

A picture framed fireplace, and a change of direction down the hall, leading to the master suite, were two highlights of the main French Oak flooring installation work.

We also installed the French Oak planks and nosing for a staircase.

What we considered to be the showpiece of this flooring project is in the bourbon room, where our crew made a special herringbone design with the French Oak flooring. To create the herringbone pattern, we made additional cuts on each plank, to make the extra tongues and grooves needed for a solid wood floor.

Caribbean Rosewood Flooring and Porcelain Tile Install in Eagle Harbor

Caribbean rosewood flooring and Emser tiled foyerDan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted to do the flooring work in a whole home renovation in the Eagle Harbor community of Fleming Island, Florida.

Our work began by removal of all of the carpeting and sheet vinyl that had been installed in the home. Next we did a lot of leveling of the concrete subfloor, to prepare it for the wood flooring and porcelain tile installation. Our clients chose engineered 3″ wide Caribbean Rosewood flooring by Tesoro Woods to replace their old carpeting. Our crew installed the Caribbean Rosewood flooring in the hallway, main living room, both bedrooms, and closets.

And they chose 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile in the Homestead cream pattern by Emser tile to replace the sheet vinyl flooring. We installed tile in the foyer, the kitchen / dining room, 2 bathrooms, and the laundry room.

Engineered Hickory Hardwood Flooring Installation near St. Augustine

Dan's Floor Store showroom, Ponte Vedra, FloridaAfter a flood in the kitchen ruined their wood flooring, these homeowners called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for a free consultation and estimate.

This wood flooring home improvement project took place in a home in Elkton Florida, just west of Saint Augustine, and off of County Road 207.

As part of the job, we were asked to remove the existing, water damaged wood flooring.

The whole 1,120 sq ft of existing wood flooring was removed by our crew in one day,

The next day we leveled the concrete slab.

And the next day, our crew started installing our clients’ new wood flooring.

 

Our clients had chosen an engineered Hickory hardwood flooring from the Villa Bocelli collection by Bella Cera in the Storico color.

This hardwood flooring comes in random widths and lengths, with a lot of variation in color and shade. Also this flooring is very unique with the saw marks against the grain of the wood. The semi-rough texture will help reduce visiblity of scratches.

We used Bostik’s Pro Cure adhesive to install this engineered Hickory hardwood flooring.

Instead of a t-mold at the tile, our crew used a header board, at our customer’s request.

Engineered French Oak Flooring & Treads – Plantation Golf & Country Club PVB

Our client selected 8″ wide, engineered French Oak flooring, from Bella Cera‘s Villa Borghese collection.

We began by leveling the concrete slab subfloor on the first level. We had to use a large amount of floor leveler to get the concrete slab ready for our wood flooring. Upstairs, our crew went from room to room, sanding all of the plywood subfloor seams to achieve a level surface.

Then we installed 4,000 square feet of the hardwood French Oak flooring. We used flooring straps when installing this French Oak wood flooring, because of the width of the flooring planks.

Our crew also did the staircase, including two landings and 21 treads in the same French Oak flooring, using nosing and flooring for the stair treads. In all, this project took several weeks to complete

The new flooring and stair treads were covered for protection while the rest of the construction work finished.

We returned to the home several weeks later, when the construction work was completed, and our new flooring and stair treads were unveiled. Everything looked great, so we got some more photos of this wood flooring and stairs project.

Sand and Finish Red Oak Wood Flooring – Ponte Vedra Beach

The new buyers of a home in Ponte Vedra Beach called Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to for a free consultation.

Someone had previously applied stain over the top of the engineered, rotary peeled  Red Oak wood flooring in the home. The new owners thought the flooring looked really hideous, and they called Dan the Floor Man to come rescue them. After our consultation, the owners contracted our Store to sand, stain, and refinish their engineered Red Oak wood flooring.

Our crew started by sanding the engineered Red Oak wood flooring down to bare wood (as can be seen in the following photos).

Then we applied Bona Graphite stain. The transformation was beautiful!

After the stain was applied our crew applied three coats of Pallmann power ultra matte waterborne finish. This sand, stain, and finish job turned out exquisite!
