Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted by a realtor, whom we were referred to by another realtor, to improve flooring and tile in a recently sold house. This house is in the Long Point Country Club neighborhood, on Amelia Island.
Our work would entail adding Red Oak flooring to a staircase, a storage room, and another staircase, along with sanding and refinishing 3,800 square feet of Red Oak flooring, and another staircase.

The specie sanded was Red Oak rift and quarter sawn, throughout the main part of the house. Our crew installed select grade 2 1/4″ Maxwell unfinished engineered Red Oak, to be congruent with existing Red Oak floor in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

The stain formula we used for refinished Red Oak flooring was 1 part Bona Antique Brown with 2 parts Bona Natural stain. It created a lovely color, which was exactly what our customer wanted.
Our crew also removed and retiled a bathroom tub and shower surround with Datile Divinium Nova DV06 color glossy 6×18 rectangles for the herringbone pattern on walls/tub surround tile, and marble Datile honed Calacatta Gold M475 hexagon floor tile.

Custom Breezeway Flooring in Deerwood
/0 Comments/in custom flooring installation, New Wood Flooring Installation, stone flooring installation /by adminA custom home builder (whom we have worked with for years) contacted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303. They wanted us to create and install an interesting breezeway flooring concept. This new breezeway connects the main part of the home to a new master bedroom that the builder just added to the Deerwood Country Club neighborhood home.
Dan’s twin brother Larry does most of the tile and stone work, so he took the lead on this job.
For the new breezeway, we decided to use 18″ by 18″ squares of white stone in the center, and 3″ wide Red Oak hardwood flooring for the borders of the stone.
Our crew began by leveling the concrete slab flooring in the breezeway. Then, using squares of plywood for the base for the stone centers, we spaced them to create the interesting pattern for the breezeway.
Next, our crew fitted the unfinished Red Oak hardwood flooring, two planks wide, to form log cabin borders. Our design concept resulted in a beautiful pinwheel basket weave design, that progressed though the breezeway. After we sanded, stained, and finished the Red Oak hardwood, our crew finally applied adhesive and installed the Red Oak flooring around the stone squares.

5″ Wide Oak Flooring Install and Refresh Stairway in Ponte Vedra Beach
/in match stain, New Tile Installation, New Wood Flooring Installation /by adminDan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 was contracted to install 5″ wide Mirage TruBalance White Oak flooring in an upper hallway and two bedrooms, refinish stair treads, and refresh the look of the tiled stairway risers to more coastal colors. (The refinished stair treads were to match the look of the new White Oak flooring.)

Our crew removed the old carpeting in specified areas upstairs. Then we leveled the sheet plywood subfloor by sanding and hand scraping the subfloor edges. Next our crew started installing the beautiful Mirage White Oak wood flooring.

We only installed flooring in the hallway and two upstairs bedrooms that tied into a nosing along with the stair landing in the wood flooring.

Then we got new White Oak treads and stain matched them. First came sanding the treads, and then wire brushing them. First staining them white, then sanding and staining them a darker shade (with some of the primary stain remaining), for a soft, two tone stain look. The bottom stair tread was a super custom-made stair tread, created by our stair artisan. (Dan has a talent for very successful stain matching wood, which was Super Duper congruent to the flooring!)
First we stripped the stair frame.
We refreshed the look of the tiled risers with more coastal colors, too!
Then we added the new tile to the risers, and the new stain matched treads to achieve refreshed stairways.

LVP Installed on Floors and Stairway in Marsh Landing

Our clients picked an LW Riverstone LVP for their floors and matching treads, with white risers. Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring is made from PVC vinyl and fiberglass, and mimics the look of hardwood or stone. We have found Luxury Vinyl Plank to be a popular choice by our customers, because it is a cost effective flooring option, it is durable in active households, and it is waterproof and spill resistant.
We began by removing old carpeting from steps and upstairs floors and VCT (Vinyl Composite Tile) tiles from another room. In main flooring areas, we installed underlayment for a smoother, level surface. (Underlayment also provides a moisture barrier, protecting against mold and mildew.)

8 wide Sweetgrass Hardwood Install in Ponte Vedra

They selected 8″ wide French Oak hardwood flooring from the Charleston Veranda collection, color Sweetgrass, by Palmetto Road for this new house.
We like to start any flooring installation project with a leveled subfloor. A leveled slab subfloor helps our crew to achieve a quality flooring installation.
Installing the engineered 8″ wide French Oak hardwood flooring, we used Bostik GreenForce adhesive. In some photos you can see the blue tape we use to hold the hardwood planks in place, while the adhesive sets up.

Install 2 1/4 wide Red Oak Engineered flooring – Glen Kernan CC

Such was the case in a recent project for a home in Glenn Kernan Golf and Country Club. For this project, the new, engineered wood flooring would be installed flush with the existing, solid wood flooring.
We began the project by leveling the concrete slab subfloor with Bostik‘s SL 175. Based on our experience, we believe a quality flooring installation starts with a leveled subfloor.
Our crew installed 2 1/4” wide x 5/8” thick Red Oak engineered wood flooring by Maxwell,to line up with and continue the flooring plank lines of the existing 2 1/4” solid Red Oak wood flooring, across the header boards at doorways. We made directional changes going into the master bedroom leading to master bathroom. And then our crew did re-directional changes of the Red Oak wood flooring planks in master bedroom closets as well. We glued down the new wood with Bostik‘s Green Force adhesive. Blue tape, used to hold the flooring in place until the adhesive sets, can be seen in some of the photos. The flooring patterns looked very nice!
We sanded all the floors, the stairway treads, rails and newel posts for a sanded wood or untreated look, treating the bare wood with Pallmann Nature Seal followed by Pallmann Pure finish.

Installing 7 1/2 wide European Oak flooring in Fernandina Beach

A 7 1/2″ wide wire-brushed European Oak hardwood flooring by Reward flooring was selected for this project.
Our crew starts each installation project by leveling the subfloor. A leveled subfloor is important for a quality flooring installation. And while leveling, we took a peek out one of the back windows of the home.
After the subfloors were leveled, we began installation of the European Oak hardwood flooring. The flooring was installed in two different directions, giving the floors a more interesting appearance. Blue tape, used to hold the flooring in place until the adhesive sets, can be seen in some of the photos.

Tile and White Oak Flooring Install – Springfield

We began by roughing up the stained concrete slab floor with a floor grinder. Then our crew leveled the concrete slab (which we would use as the subfloor for our Oak hardwood flooring and our tile installations). A level subfloor is very important to achieving a quality flooring installation.

Subsequently we began flooring installation. For this job, it was 5″ wide engineered White Oak hardwood flooring for most of the house, with 17″ x 17″ tile in the kitchen, and 8″ x 8″ decorative tile in the bathroom.

Sand and Finish White Oak Floors in TPC Sawgrass

This just happens to be the Oak flooring we had installed in this home 10 years prior. We found the Oak flooring had corralled a lot of dirt in the soft grain of the wood over the years, due to dogs being in and out of their yard.

We sanded the floors with our big Lagler-Hummel belt sander, and hand sanded and scraped the edges of the White Oak floors.

Then our Dan’s Floor Store team finished these wire brushed White Oak floors with durable Pallmann finish.
