European White Oak flooring Installation in Marsh Landing.

A homeowner in the Marsh Landing community of Ponte Vedra Beach contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for her flooring project. She wanted to replace the 3 1/4″ wide, narrow plank Amendoim flooring in her home with an updated, wider plank European White Oak flooring. (Amendoim is a hardwood, from a tree which is native to South America.)

The lady chose LW Flooring in the Renaissance Collection. This is an engineered character grade European white oak floor in the color Klausen. Her new flooring is 7 1/2″ wide, in random lengths.

After removal of her old flooring, our team leveled the concrete slab subfloor with Bostik leveler. After 2-3 days to let the concrete leveler fully dry, we installed the new wood flooring with Bostik’s Greenforce , a no VOC, moisture control adhesive.

Dan also used Bona stains and Pallmann finishes to refinish her existing Oak stair treads to match the look of her new floors.
He mixed a custom formulation of different stain colors to achieve the Klausen flooring color look. Dan can create array of custom stains and finishes to blend with or match most wood flooring choices.

European Oak Flooring and Tile Install – Hibernia

For this job, Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 installed engineered European Oak hardwood flooring, and did tile work in a New 2 story home in the Hibernia community of Fleming Island, Florida.

Our team always starts a wood flooring installation by leveling the concrete slab subfloor for first floor work. We level the sheet plywood subfloor upstairs by sanding and then hand scraping the edges. Then our team installed the 4mm veneer LW Flooring Paradise Island Hawea, a 10 1/4″ wide x ⅝ thick engineered European Oak flooring. This flooring came in random lengths, so we could provide added visual appeal to the wood flooring as we installed it.

Dan also sanded, stained and finished the new stair treads, railings and posts to match the Hawea flooring. Dan can stain match treads to blend with most styles of wood flooring or vinyl plank.

Our team also installed tile in several areas of the new home. Our customer purchased many tile selections from us such as Elsmer Terramor Bianco marble tile for the primary bathroom and Daltile Artcrafted Glazed Ceramic 3 x 12 Coconut for a guest bathroom.

After leveling the subfloor, our team installed hardiebacker boards to protect the shower and bath tub area walls and ceilings from moisture intrusion.

Next we installed the tiles on walls, ceilings, and floors in patterns as specified by the client. Their design included tiled niches in shower and bathtub areas, and some natural skylights. We thought these were some very interesting design features and beautiful selections of tile in this new home.

Our team also installed customer provided tile in several other areas of the house such as the laundry room, pool bath and another bathroom. Dan’s Floor Store sells many styles and designs of tile, but we can also install customer provided tile.

New Build Hardwood Flooring Install – Jax Beach

One of our favorite local new home builders contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install some new hardwood flooring in south Jacksonville Beach. This newly built house required 3,500 square feet of wood flooring!

Our crew began by leveling the downstairs concrete subfloor with Bostik‘s SL-175 leveler. We leveled the subfloor upstairs by sanding the edges of the sheet plywood subfloor. It’s highly important to level the subfloor so that the wood flooring rides evenly on the subfloors.

Here are photos of some of the materials we used for this project.

Next our crew installed the Reward brand, Terreno Collection, color Conte, hardwood flooring. This flooring is a rustic grade, 9 1/2″ wide x 5/8″ thick European oak, and it comes in random lengths, to make it more appealing to the eye. We used Bostik’s Green Force adhesive for the installation. (Green Force is a moisture vapor barrier adhesive with no VOCs and is Floor Score Certified).

European Oak Hardwood Flooring install – Nocatee

This Dan’s Floor Store job took place in Nocatee community in St. Johns county, Florida. These customers have owned this home for a decade and are improving their flooring prior to relocating back from Japan.

Our crew started this project by removing all of the old, existing tile, except for in the bathrooms.

We leveled the concrete slab subfloors with Bostik SL 175 leveler, to prepare them for the new engineered, character grade, European Oak hardwood flooring. (A leveled subfloor is important for a quality flooring installation.)

Here are some nice photos of the newly installed European Oak hardwood flooring, which we installed using Bostik Green Force adhesive. This flooring by Bella Citta was 7 1/2″ wide, and came in random lengths.

Installing 7 1/2 wide European Oak flooring in Fernandina Beach

One of our home building contractor associates subcontracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install hardwood flooring in a home they were building in Fernandina Beach, on Amelia Island. A 7 1/2″ wide wire-brushed European Oak hardwood flooring by Reward flooring was selected for this project.

Our crew starts each installation project by leveling the subfloor. A leveled subfloor is important for a quality flooring installation. And while leveling, we took a peek out one of the back windows of the home.

After the subfloors were leveled, we began installation of the European Oak hardwood flooring. The flooring was installed in two different directions, giving the floors a more interesting appearance. Blue tape, used to hold the flooring in place until the adhesive sets, can be seen in some of the photos.

European Oak hardwood flooring.

European Oak Flooring & Treads Installed – Ponte Vedra

A homeowner in Ponte Vedra, Florida purchased 3,000 square feet of 9 1/2″ wide, wire brushed European Oak engineered hardwood flooring by Nuvelle. Then they contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to install this European Oak on their floors and stairway.

We began by leveling the concrete slab subfloor and sanding the edges of the plywood sheet subfloor on the second level of the home. (A good wood flooring installation requires a leveled subfloor.) Then we began flooring installation. The flooring straps we use for the wide plank flooring installations can be seen in some of the photos.

This client didn’t want shoe molding around their waterfall countertops or their cabinets. So the crew tucked the flooring at the bottom of the waterfall countertops, and got closer than 1/16″ around all of the cabinets, throughout the home.

Our client also wanted a more seamless transition at their doorways, between tiled areas and the new wood flooring. So, we milled the full T-molding down to a lower profile and achieved no raised surface at the transition.

The Dan’s Floor Store crew installed the same European Oak flooring on the stair treads. The stair tread nosing we had ordered from the factory arrived in the wrong color. So, we had to sand them down and stain and finish the nosing to match the flooring.

Engineered Oak Hardwood Flooring Install – Odom’s Mill

Some new homeowners and business owners call Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to add the warm tones of wood flooring in their properties. And other people contact us to install wood flooring when they are ready to give their place a fresh and welcoming appearance.

Homeowners in the Odom’s Mill community in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 for their flooring improvement project. They were ready to replace the carpeting and some of the tile flooring in their home with wood flooring.

Our clients selected 7 1/2″ wide engineered European Oak hardwood flooring by Sawgrass Hills in Malaga color for their home.

We began this project by moving most of the household furniture into their garage. (The Master bedroom furniture was not moved, because our clients were living there while we worked on their floors.)

Next our crew removed the tile flooring and old carpeting. One room had an blue epoxy floor, that reminded us of a blue bowling ball. We sanded the epoxy floor with our sanding buffer with a very rough plate, to prepare the smooth epoxy surface for leveling compound.

We used 15 bags of BOSTIK SL150 Leveler to level 2,000 square feet of the slab concrete and epoxied subfloor surface in this home, in preparation for the hardwood flooring installation. A level subfloor surface is important for a quality hardwood flooring installation.

This home had quite a few walls set at a diagonal to the main (length and width) dimensions of the rooms. Not a problem because our crew practices “measure twice and cut once” workmanship. We installed the European Oak hardwood flooring using durable, dependable Bostik GreenForce Adhesive.

We had just done a flooring job for these clients in a home in the Coastal Oaks community in Nocatee, Florida, six months ago. When they called us for this job, they had just purchased a new home in the 20 Mile community in Nocatee. They wanted to replace the carpeting on the upstairs floors and stairs in the new home with wood flooring.

Our crew began by removing approximately 1,800 square feet of carpeting from the floors and stairway of their new home.

We leveled the upstairs floors by sanding and hand scraping the edges of the sheet plywood subfloor.

European Oak Hardwood Flooring Installation in Coastal Oaks

This home flooring improvement job took place in the Coastal Oaks community in Nocatee, Florida.

9 1/2" wide European Oak flooring installed.Soon after closing on their new home, these clients contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to replace their flooring with European Oak flooring. They selected 9 1/2″ wide engineered wire brushed European Oak hardwood flooring by D&M flooring. (It’s D&M Flooring’s Modern Craftsman Signature Line, color: Aberdeen, and comes in random lengths.)

Even though this was a new home, our crew began by doing a massive amount of leveling of the concrete slab subfloor, using Bostik SL-150 self-leveling underlayment. The subfloors on all jobs done by Dan’s Floor Store must be leveled prior to flooring installation, to guarantee a strong bond to subfloor and a solid sounding floor versus a hollow floor sound!

We installed these 9 1/2″ wide European Oak planks using durable Bostik’s Green Force adhesive. This European Oak flooring laid out very attractively. European Oak is not as character filled as some wood flooring.
