European Oak Flooring and Tile Install – Hibernia

For this job, Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 installed engineered European Oak hardwood flooring, and did tile work in a New 2 story home in the Hibernia community of Fleming Island, Florida.

Our team always starts a wood flooring installation by leveling the concrete slab subfloor for first floor work. We level the sheet plywood subfloor upstairs by sanding and then hand scraping the edges. Then our team installed the 4mm veneer LW Flooring Paradise Island Hawea, a 10 1/4″ wide x ⅝ thick engineered European Oak flooring. This flooring came in random lengths, so we could provide added visual appeal to the wood flooring as we installed it.

Dan also sanded, stained and finished the new stair treads, railings and posts to match the Hawea flooring. Dan can stain match treads to blend with most styles of wood flooring or vinyl plank.

Our team also installed tile in several areas of the new home. Our customer purchased many tile selections from us such as Elsmer Terramor Bianco marble tile for the primary bathroom and Daltile Artcrafted Glazed Ceramic 3 x 12 Coconut for a guest bathroom.

After leveling the subfloor, our team installed hardiebacker boards to protect the shower and bath tub area walls and ceilings from moisture intrusion.

Next we installed the tiles on walls, ceilings, and floors in patterns as specified by the client. Their design included tiled niches in shower and bathtub areas, and some natural skylights. We thought these were some very interesting design features and beautiful selections of tile in this new home.

Our team also installed customer provided tile in several other areas of the house such as the laundry room, pool bath and another bathroom. Dan’s Floor Store sells many styles and designs of tile, but we can also install customer provided tile.

Installed Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring - featured.

9″ wide LVP Flooring Install – St Augustine

One of our homebuilder friends contracted Dan’s Floor Store 904.887.8303 to do the flooring part of their new home project. They selected 9″ wide LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring for the floors and stairs, in the color Luray Caverns, by LW Flooring. This LVP comes in varied lengths, which makes the installation and the look of the installed flooring more interesting.

Our crew began by leveling the subfloors. We leveled the concrete slab subfloor downstairs. We also sanded the edges of the plywood sheet subfloor upstairs to create a leveled surface for the LVP flooring. Dan’s Floor Store has found that leveling the surface of the subfloor prior to installing new flooring gives better results and happier clients.

Next came the installation of the Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring on the upstairs and downstairs floors, and the stairway. We found and installed matching nosing for the stair treads.

Engineered Walnut Flooring Installation – San Pablo Creek Reserve

Custom home - San Pablo Creek ReserveThis flooring project involved installing 7 1/2″ wide, engineered Walnut plank flooring by LW Flooring in a new home under construction by one of our custom home builders.

The project home is located in the San Pablo Creek Reserve neighborhood in Southside Jacksonville.

As always, first and foremost, we did the floor leveling. Our crew leveled the concrete slab subfloor to prepare it for the wood flooring installation.

Leveling guarantees a strong bond to subfloor and a solid sounding floor versus a hollow floor sound!

Then we installed the 7 1/2″ wide engineered Walnut flooring using Bostik green force adhesive. Our crew used flooring straps when installing this Walnut flooring, because of the width of the flooring planks.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring Installation – St. Augustine, FL

Our client chose Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring from the LW Flooring Riverstone Collection, in the Citrine Oasis color.

Our crew started this job by grinding down the high spots on the existing floor tiles with our diamond grinder. This grinder also has a vacuum attachment on the skirt, to trap all of the grinding dust.

  • Grinding the surface of the existing tile flooring flat is one step that most others do not do when installing vinyl plank flooring over top of tile.
  • At Dan’s Floor Store, we do not cut corners. Preparation is a key to achieving a quality, durable Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring installation.

Prior to installing the Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring, our crew removed the existing baseboards. Then after installing all of the vinyl plank flooring, we installed new block style baseboards, and new shoe molding.

White Oak Engineered Vinyl Plank Flooring Install – St. Augustine

Engineered vinyl plank flooring by LM FlooringThe owner of a vacation rental condo in St. Augustine, Florida called Dan’s Floor Store to install vinyl plank flooring in the master suite.

The owner selected White Oak engineered vinyl plank flooring by LW Flooring, in their Riverside collection. They chose a style called Anise.

Our crew installed the White Oak vinyl plank flooring over a plywood subfloor. Part of this job included cutting a relief along the bottom of a stone fireplace, so the flooring could tuck under it properly.

White Stained White Oak Floors in Plantation Country Club PVB

Dan’s Floor Store works hard on each flooring project to provide results that make our clients happy. And we appreciate when our happy clients recommend us to their friends and family, and when they call us back to do a new wood, tile or stone flooring project in their home, office, or commercial property.

Last year we installed engineered white stained White Oak wood flooring in several rooms of this client’s home in the Plantation Country Club community in Ponte Vedra Beach to achieve a beach house look.

Our clients liked the beachy look of that flooring so much they called us to help renovate some more rooms in their home, removing some existing tile flooring and replacing the tile with new wood flooring.

Engineered white stained White Oak wood flooring for a beach house lookThis year our clients asked that we extend the beach house look flooring through their home, with 7 1/2″ wide, wire brushed, engineered European White Oak wood flooring with white stain in the grain from the LW Flooring Emilia collection.

First we removed the existing tile from the floors to be covered with White Oak wood flooring.

This video clip shows how a floor tile removal machine makes it faster and easier to remove existing floor tiles with minimal damage to the subfloor surface.

Next we leveled the concrete subfloor. Dan’s Floor Store has made it a practice of leveling subfloors prior to all wood floor installations to help make the client’s new wood flooring last longer. Uneven subfloors can cause damage to new wood flooring, so we make sure we start installing the new wood floor on a level surface.

We use special flooring straps to hold these white stained White Oak wood planks together during installation, due to the width of the planks.

The engineered white stained White Oak wood flooring that we installed gives the floors a nice beachy look that the clients like and we do, too.

Our clients enjoy sitting out in the back yard of their home, relaxing with the pleasant view of the peaceful waters of the pond.

New European White Oak wood floor and Stair Tread Refinishing in South Jax Beach

New European White Oak wood flooring installedThere were two parts to this Dan’s Floor Store project; one part was to install some elegant new European White Oak wood plank floor that was 7 1/2 inch wide by 9/16 of an inch thick, known as “Tuscany” from the Renaissance collection by LW Flooring.

New wood flooring installation follows a thorough and often extensive subfloor leveling process which Dan’s Floor Store must perform to prevent variations in the surface of the subfloor causing dips and humps in the wood flooring installation. These photos show the subfloor.

These photos show wood floor planks being strapped together with special flooring straps during installation, due to the width of the planks. Included in one of the photos is a bucket of the Bostick GreenForce combined high performance adhesive and moisture control membrane that we used.

This elegant solid European White Oak wood floor is redefining the “Beachy” look without being super light; it has a fumed-type of look and as you can see, there is a lot of variation in the darkness of the finish from plank to plank.

The second part of the project was to sand and stain the wooden stair treads to blend with the new European White Oak wood floor.

 

We finished our work with Bona Traffic HD with a matte finish that looks great and has super durability, in addition to being a green product.

White Oak with White Stain – Plantation Country Club

Installed wire brushed engineered white oak floor with white stainDuring one of our Dan’s Floor Store free consultations, a couple living in the Plantation Country Club community in Ponte Vedra, Florida asked us to help give their home a more beachy style.

We suggested wire brushed 7 1/2′ wide White Oak engineered wood flooring from LW Flooring with a white stain for the 3 bedrooms they were wanting to renovate, which has been a popular look over the last few years for a “beach house look” in local Florida homes.

The couple liked the look and asked us to install the new flooring in 3 of their bedrooms, amounting to nearly 1000 square feet of White Oak engineered wood flooring to be installed and stained.

And here is the White Oak engineered wood flooring installed. We “popped” the grain of the new wood flooring with water, to achieve better penetration of the white stain, for a better visual effect.
